Aliyeva Leyla Ilham gizi was born on July 3, 1985 in Moscow.

After graduating from high-school, she enrolled at the European School of Business.

From 2006 to 2008, Leyla Aliyeva pursued a Masters Degree at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO).

She was the Chairwoman of the Azerbaijan Club at MGIMO until 2010.

Since May 10, 2007, she heads the representative office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the Russian Federation.

On December 19, 2007, Leyla Aliyeva presented the glossy “Baku” magazine in Moscow.

On May 8, 2008, she launched a campaign, named “Justice for Khojaly”.

She became the General Coordinator of the OIC Youth Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in May 2008.

On April 18, 2009, Leyla Aliyeva was elected Chairwoman of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia – AMOR.

She has been the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation since 2011.

In July 2011, “Taraggi” (Progress) Medal was conferred upon Leyla Aliyeva for her contributions to the development of Azerbaijan-Russian relations.

Presentation ceremony of the English version of journal “Baku”, run by Leyla Aliyeva, took place in London in October 2011.

She is married and has two sons.
