Another bison calf born in Shahdag National Park

On 6 September 2021, another bison calf was born in a bison family, reintroduced within a conservation project implemented by IDEA, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and WWF Azerbaijan.

The baby bison is reported to be healthy, getting used to the environment and the herd. “It should be noted that through 2019 and 2020, 17 bison were brought and released into the wild of Shahdag National Park at Ismayilli side with the aim to reintroduce the species to the local nature and increase their numbers as part of the joint agreement signed between IDEA Public Union and Shahdag National Park.”
