On 6 August 2019, another park opened under IDEA’s "Bizim həyət" project that aims to improve and renovate old yards and parks in Baku.
Opening ceremony of the park took place with participation of Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and IDEA founder Leyla Aliyeva, who planted trees together with volunteers.
Becoming twenty-eighth within the project, the improved park covers an area of 1,4 ha, surrounding multi-story buildings with 2000 dwellers who reside at 3, 3A, 5/13, 5B, 5V, 5A/15 Abay Kunanbayev and 15/1 Suleyman Sani Akhundov streets of Binagadi district.
The goal of "Bizim həyət" project is to upgrade residential parks that need restoration, increase areas of greeneries in the city and create more comfortable living environments for residents.
The park has been improved in a way to provide comfort to everyone, including people with disabilities. It features a new landscape design, football pitch, basketball court, chess board, three playgrounds for children and outdoor workout facilities to create social fitness experience for people of all ages enabling them to lead active lives.
Moreover, 5 gazebos and lots of new benches and waste bins have been placed in the yard.
At the request of residents, new lighting was installed in the area, façades and entrance areas of the buildings have also been renovated with new metal doors. Along with the restoration of the existing greenery, 100 new trees have been planted and 3000 sq meter lawn has been laid in the yard. Additionally, surveillance cameras were placed in the yard to ensure safety of residents.
