Coastal Cleanup Action
Intro
On September 7, 2013 IDEA campaign held a coastal cleanup action in Nardaran beach on the occasion of “The International Coastal Cleanup Week” that is celebrated in the first week of September every year.Descrtiption & Concept
Every year due to International Cleaning Week, coastal cleaning action is held by IDEA with the participation of the youth in order to contribute to the environment. During the action hundreds of kilograms of waste after collecting from the coastal areas was sent to recycling.
On September 7, 2013 IDEA campaign held a coastal cleanup action in Nardaran beach on the occasion of “The International Coastal Cleanup Week” that is celebrated in the first week of September every year. The action was held under the slogan “All together for nature in the cleanup week”.
Main aim of action was collection of trash in the coastal zone, draw the attention of youth to the pollution of earth and its dangers, call people not to pollute and keep the territory where they have rest clean.
More than 100 young people participated in the action. According to standards of hygiene participants put on special gloves. They divided collected trash into food and non-food waste. The collected trash was sent to Balakhani landfill and Waste-to-Energy Plant to be sorted and recycled.
It should be noted that IDEA campaign regularly holds cleanup actions considering its benefits for both humankind and environment.
