On 19 December 2015, the twelfth training session of the “Ecological laboratory for children” was jointly held by IDEA Public Union and “Sevimli Bala” at the Resource Center located at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The December session was dedicated to the subject of “Earth and the new year” of the Laboratory. Children found out interesting facts about our planet, its inner layers and natural processes occurring on its surface such as volcanic eruptions and earthquakes, and learned how to make and decorate a holiday tree without harming the environment.

In the course of the training session, the participants engaged in several lab experiments and created little “works of art” on the theme of the New Year by using various materials.

Besides offering an interesting and fun day for children, the December session of the Laboratory aimed to contribute to their early-age understanding of geology.

At the closing of the session, IDEA Public Union and “Sevimli Bala” presented special New Year presents to the participants.

Within the “Ecological laboratory for children” project, which was launched in January of 2015, monthly training sessions were held on various environmental subjects, including climate change and global warming, “green city”, waste and recycling, seasons of the year and trees, atmospheric pollution, organic and healthy foods, water and its characteristics, energy and ways to save it, animals and their protection and other issues. More than 200 kids attended the lab over the past year.
