The Ecological Laboratory for Children – August session

Recycling and sustainability are something we feel strongly about at IDEA Resource Centers, and we like to promote them in as many ways as possible. Therefore, the August eco-lab session of IDEA and Sevimli Bala focused on teaching 6 to 11 year old children about environmental protection through reducing, reusing and recycling.

In the course of the session children were informed about waste processing solutions and their importance to our planet and biodiversity. They also became familiar with ins and outs of responsible waste separation and proper disposal.

Further, our little environmentalists engaged in fun knowledge contests and quizzes, and learned how to make useful things from used materials. The demonstration of IDEA’s eco-backpacks made from recycled plastic bottles seemed to be a great interest to children.

Apart from being a day full of fun and learning, the session has been a great contribution to children’s knowledge about the concept of responsibility and the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) from young age.

We would like to mention that, due to high demand, the same recycling-themed lab will also be held in the city of Ganja on 30 August 2016.
