The Ecological Laboratory for Children – June 2017

The June session of the eco-lab project focused on teaching 6 to 11 year-old children about environmental protection through the concept of reduce, reuse and recycle.

In the course of the session children were informed about waste processing solutions and their importance to our planet and wildlife, as well as the positive and negative effects of humans on the environment. Children were also given useful tips and tricks on how to sort out waste, recycle right and reuse common items in all sorts of creative, fun, and crafty ways.

Later, the young environmentalists engaged in fun knowledge contests and quizzes, and made crafts from used materials. The demonstration of IDEA’s eco-backpacks made from recycled plastic bottles especially gained children’s interest.

Apart from being a day full of fun and learning, the session has been a great contribution to children’s knowledge about the concept of responsibility and the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) from young age.

As usually, the young participants were presented memorial gifts at the closing of the session.
