Cooperation in the area of ecology was launched between IDEA Public Union and the Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

With a view to establish the legal framework of cooperation, the parties signed the Agreement of Cooperation on 05 June 2015.  Based on the agreement, IDEA Public Union and the Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan will cooperate and implement relevant projects in such areas as enhancing environmental education, countering climate change, waste management, combating the emerging environmental challenges, protection of biodiversity, encouraging sustainable development, promoting environmental responsibility and conducting ecological assessments.

IDEA Public Union was established in 2011 with a mission to increase public awareness about the environment, involve youth in finding efficient ways to solve environmental problems, and promote education and training in this area. Over the past few years since its founding, IDEA has carried out major national and regional projects on environmental protection and solution of ecological problems with the participation of a substantial number of young people, organized international events, and established ties with relevant national and international partners.

Approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 19 December 2011, the Regulation on the Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan lists environmental education of youth as one of the main objectives of the Youth Foundation. The cooperation established between IDEA and the Youth Foundation will serve to the realization of this objective.
