Football master-class training session held for children

On 12 June 2018, a football master-class session was held in the Baku boulevard by IDEA, Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) and UN Azerbaijan as a symbol of support for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

 

Coached by Azerbaijani football players, the event aimed to promote awareness on the SDGs among young people and to harness the skills and enthusiasm of younger generations for sports, healthy lifestyle and sustainable development.

 

Leading players of the national football team of Azerbaijan, Kamran Aghayev, Javid Imamverdiyev and Ruslan Gurbanov, conducted an exciting training session to about 60 junior football enthusiasts.

 

The training session started off with football players giving tips on how to play football and how to become a successful and professional player. The goalkeeper Kamran Aghayev shared his experience on goalkeeping. The most technical half defender Javid Imanverdiyev and a talented striker Ruslan Gurbanov explained how to improve soccer skills and demonstrated various ball controlling techniques, dribbling, passing etc.

 

Later, the young football players played a match with the players of the national team.

 

At the end of the training session, the young participants were given special SDG footballs as gifts from IDEA.
