Official opening ceremony of the “IDEA for Green Azerbaijan” project was held in front of the Maiden Tower (Baku) on September 24, 2012. The event was attended by some eighty young people, including IDEA Staff, volunteers of the “IDEA for Green Azerbaijan” project, representatives of the State Department of the Historical and Architectural Reserve of Icherisher and representatives of other civil society organizations.
IDEA Campaign launches its next country-wide environmentally awareness raising project to be held in the entire regions of Azerbaijan.
Specifically and symbolically designed “Green Buses” will take “Green Trainers” to different regions of Azerbaijan to raise the awareness of secondary school students in those regions. The project aims at enlightening secondary schools students on environmental issues from the very early ages, increase their theoretical and practical knowledge in this sphere, promote environmentally friendly behaviour among them and establish a pool of “Green Trainers and Green Volunteers” in the regions. The first phase of the “IDEA for Green Azerbaijan” project will cover 20 cities around Azerbaijan and will take place in September-October, 2012.
