The March session of the ecological laboratory program for children was dedicated to celebration of Novruz, the coming of spring and the awakening of natural world. 

During the session children learned about the blooming of plants, how animals become more active during the spring and about other seasonal events in nature.

The young environmentalists were informed about a photosynthesis process, indoor plants and how to care for them, the structure of flowers, seed germination and the health benefits of medicinal and fruit plants. They also got familiar with the types of various plants and flowers.

Later, children were engaged in fun games and activities such as making their own perfume out of flowers and growing samani, the symbol of Novruz, which is a type of wheat sprout associated with the changing seasons.

The session concluded with planting colorful flowers outdoors.

The Ecological Laboratory is a monthly training session jointly launched by IDEA and Sevimli Bala kids club, providing opportunities and resources to extend the children’s knowledge and awareness of the environment.
