The international conference “Global View on Environmental Issues in Oil Industry” was held on 4-5 November 2013 at Fairmont Baku, Azerbaijan. The event was organized by IDEA campaign, ITECA Caspian, and PSG (Practical Solutions Group) with the official support of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and support of BP.

The conference brought  together government authorities, prominent public figures, heads of oil and gas companies and relevant international organizations, leading specialists, well-known academics and NGOs involved in protection of the environment.

The Opening Ceremony of the event was held on November 4, 2013. The Vice-President of Heydar Aliyev  Foundation, Mrs. Leyla Aliyeva's greeting was delivered to the guests of the conference by the IDEA representative in the Ceremony.

This event served as a platform for flagging global environmental issues, highlighting existing problems, reiterating global commitments as well as sharing positive experiences and innovative technologies used in protection of the environment in the oil and gas industry. Over 30 presentations were featured by high-ranking industry experts in the event.
