IDEA held a tree planting action in the suburb of Baku, Zikh district, on November 17 and in Azerbaijan’s second largest city, Ganja on December 1.2013. Together they palnted more than 5000 coniferous trees in the shape of the letters IDEA.

IDEA aims to contribute to the enviroment,to form ecological partnerships, promote enviromental awareness among young people amd engage the younger generations to make a worthy and interesting voluntary contribution for the benefit  of nature everywhere.

The area, which is now planted with trees, was formerly land unsuitable for sowing and contaminated with domestic waste.Prior to the IDEA campaingn action, the planting are was cleaned of domestic waste and made suitable for sowing with the help of several agro-technical services.

In Ganja, more than 10.000 trees were planted on the initiative of IDEA and with the support of the Ganja city executive authorities. The action held at the Heydar Aliyev Park in Ganja involved over 1,000 volunteers. The trees planted in the area were mainly the Eldar pine, cypress and sycamore, which gie special beauty  to Ganja and play a special role in enriching the air with oxygen
