“Let’s Protect Leopards!” ecological summer camp

IDEA Campaign, along with the Ecological Training and Experience Center of the Ministry of Education and the representative office of the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF) in Azerbaijan, held "Let's protect leopards!” three-day ecological summer camp, as part of the Caucasian leopard protection program. The camp took place in the village of Garibler and involved over 70 school children from Masalli, Astara and Lanakaran regions.

The goal of the camp was to spread environmental awareness among the school aged children, develop a sense of respect and caring for nature in them, inform the local youth about the rare leopard species inhabiting the area and promote the protection of the species.

The campers attended a series of environmental seminars that revolved around the theme of preserving this endangered animal, took a trip to the areas where leopards occur and engaged in various ecological research activities and games.

To remind, the first such camp in Masalli was organized on 9-11 July, 2014, gathering schoolchildren from Lankaran, Astara and Lerik regions.
