The opening ceremony is attended by vice president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Leyla Aliyev, representative of the Presidential Administration, president of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev and other officials.

The 7th environmental Olympiad INEPO-EURASIA involves nearly 500 participants from 45 countries. 78 out of 214 projects of 180 Azerbaijani schools and 52 of 625 projects of the representatives of 45 foreign countries have been selected in this respect.

The Olympiad feature such countries as Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Macedonia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Germany, Great Britain, Egypt and others.

The ceremony of awarding the winners of the two-day Olympiad is due on 6 April.

The project is implemented with the steering support of the ministries of education, ecology and natural resources, IDEA International Environmental Campaign, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Public Television of Azerbaijan, Turkish company Chagh Oghretim and INEPO-EURASIA environmental public organization.

The main aim of the Olympiad is to inform the younger generation about the solution of growing environmental problems and environmental protection, as well as the preservation of natural, cultural, historical and social and aesthetic values.
