Launch of the “Seven Wonders of Azerbaijan” television project

On 28 May 2019, launch event of a new television project, “Seven Wonders of Azerbaijan”, presented by IDEA Public Union and Nature and History Production, was held in old town Icherisheher.


New to Azerbaijan, the initiative aims to increase patriotism in society, protect our national, cultural and historical heritage, examine the controversial and distorted facts of Azerbaijani history based on historical monuments of the period, direct attention to the recognition, preservation and restoration of historical, cultural and natural sites located in the territory of our country.


Moreover, “Seven Wonders of Azerbaijan” project envisages stimulating the development of tourism and tourism infrastructure by bringing awareness on history and cultural and natural treasures of Azerbaijan both inside and outside of the country.


The launch event was attended by the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and IDEA founder Leyla Aliyeva, public figures, representatives of foreign missions, scientists, prominent cultural figures and others.


During the event, statements were delivered by the head of the Nature and History Production Hikmat Naghdaliyev, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev, Deputy minister of Sevda Mammadaliyeva, director of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences Yaqub Mahmudov and the head of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan Fuad Naghiyev.


At the end of the ceremony, an electronic voting for Azerbaijan's favorite wonders officially kicked off on the website of the project at www.yeddi.az.
