Azerbaijan Animal Rescue Center (AARC) was established in 2009. The Activities of the Azerbaijan Animal Rescue Center are supported by Vise-President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder of IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) campaign, Mrs. Lelya Aliyeva. The main purpose of establishing the Center is to contribute to the control of homeless pets and development of animal care culture in Azerbaijan. The Center is striving to contribute to the development of animal care culture in Azerbaijan. Therefore, establishing clubs, conducting awareness raising activities at kindergartens and schools, involving young veterinarians in capacity building trainings are just a small part of the activities of AARC.
