Caspian trout juveniles released within Abundant Basins project
On 2 May 2022, 45 thousand of the endangered Caspian trout made its way into the Caspian Sea.
The juveniles released from special cages anchored in the open sea had been raised by the Experimental Marine Fish Factory within the Abundant Basins project of IDEA and Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, aiming to replenish the country’s fish populations, reduce pollution and promote sustainable fishing to ultimately restore the marine environment of the Caspian.
