On 5 March 2018, on the Day of Physical Culture and Sport Day in Azerbaijan, an outdoor workout training ground unveiled in Baku Boulevard at the initiative of Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva.

Located in one of the most visited public areas of Baku – National Park, the new facility has been installed under the joint project of IDEA and "Cavan" Youth Movement Public Union with the aim to promote rapidly growing in the world sport type called Street Workout.

Street workout is a combination of calisthenics and bar exercises that improves your muscle strength, flexibility and endurance.

Taking into consideration the special standards of the street workout sport, the free and easy to use sport area will not only be accessible for active people but also people with special needs.

At the opening ceremony, IDEA founder Leyla Aliyeva, head of the Department of Youth Policy and Sport Issues at the Presidential Administration Yusuf Mammadaliyev, Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov and Vice-president of the National Olympic Committee Chingiz Huseynzade highlighted the importance of projects like this in the development of healthy and active generation. Azerbaijan Olympics, World and European champions participating at the opening expressed their appreciation to Leyla Aliyeva, on behalf of all sportspeople.

It should be noted that, the Street Workout project was launched by Leyla Aliyeva with the aim to support the sport policy of Azerbaijan by promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices. Mental, moral, and physical development of youth is one of the priority tasks of IDEA Public Union that advocates for protection of environment and sustainable development.

Installation of such outdoor gyms is projected to take place in other parts of the country as well.
