The International Earth Hour 2024 event took place in Baku on March 23 with the support of the Public Association "Regional Development" and the Youth Movement CAVAN, in collaboration with the IDEA Public Association and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) as part of the Year of Solidarity for a Green World. The mass event, dedicated to this occasion, gathered participants at the Heydar Aliyev Center Park, where a solemn switching off of outdoor lighting occurred at 8:30 p.m. Participants joined in setting up the "60+" symbol of the campaign with candles and enjoyed an entertaining program, including engaging contests and LED lantern shows. Hundreds of young people joined the event, showcasing their support for environmental protection and taking part in exciting activities related to the upcoming COP29 international event planned to be held in Azerbaijan this year.

Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Association Leyla Aliyeva took part in the opening of the yard, as well as in the tree planting campaign held as part of the event. During the event, which took place on the eve of the New Year holiday, a festive evening was organized for the young residents of the landscaped yard, and festive gifts were presented. The celebration, filled with a musical and entertainment program, created a pleasant festive mood for the children and gave them moments full of joy.

As part of the “Share your joy” campaign, usable toys collected from donation boxes were presented to children in need of special care on the occasion of World Azerbaijani Solidarity Day and New Year. One hundred gift boxes made of toys collected in toy boxes were distributed to children in the “Share your joy” children’s shelter.

IDEA represented at COP-28 held in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on December 4.<br />The founder and chairperson of the union Leyla Aliyeva, delivered a speech at a panel session on Empowering Women for Progress: Water and Sustainable Development Goals' under the supervision of Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, the President of the General Women's Union.<br />At the same time, IDEA provided information to visitors at the Azerbaijan Pavilion about the organization's efforts in the context of climate change.

In 24 November 2023, 10 more bison were brought to Azerbaijan as part of the bison reintroduction project implemented by IDEA, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and WWF Azerbaijan.<br /><br />Together with the newly arrived bison, brought from Germany's Tierpark Berlin zoo, the number of bison in Shahdag National Park has reached 61!

A new improved neighborhood park has opened within IDEA’s “Bizim Həyət” (Our Yard) project in Nasimi district, Husein Bala Aliyev street 3, 5, 7. 950 trees, thousands of bushes and other plants have been planted in the park, including hanging plants like the ivy, which serve as effective barriers to air pollution.<br /><br />Children’s playgrounds, sports facilities, mini football court, chess field, gazebos and benches and all the other amenities are now at the disposal of more than 700 people who reside in the area and will now have more reasons to be outdoors.

Under the guidance of Leyla Aliyeva, another yard was opened as part of the Our yard Project.

In connection with the International Day of the Sea, as part of the Caspian Week celebrated in our country, a coastal cleanup campaign was conducted in the Jorat settlement of Sumgayit.
