In connection with the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, celebrated annually on September 16, the IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Protection) campaign held an interactive seminar on “Methods to Combat Atmospheric Pollution.”

The seminar was attended by nearly 30 young people with a special interest in the environment and its protection. Mətanət Avazova, Deputy Director of the National Environmental Monitoring Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, participated as an expert in the interactively organized seminar.

During the seminar, the expert emphasized that the recent increase in energy consumption and the resulting rise in carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere lead to the formation and gradual enlargement of the hole in the ozone layer. This problem can have serious consequences for the future of the Earth.

The seminar also included interesting discussions about the causes of atmospheric pollution and how harmful the ozone layer depletion is to human life. The expert gathered participants’ opinions on the issue and answered their questions. In her concluding remarks, the expert urged young people to approach such problems with greater sensitivity and attention.
