The research program on "Azerbaijan’s Ornithofauna and Species Observation" has concluded.

The research program on "Azerbaijan’s Ornithofauna and Species Observation," organized by the IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Protection) Public Union, founded and headed by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, was carried out from April 29 to May 2 and has now concluded.
The program, attended by about 20 young people, consisted of theoretical and practical sessions and lasted four days. During the theoretical part of the program, held from April 29 to May 1, participants took part in training on Azerbaijan’s ornithofauna and bird species. The theoretical sessions were conducted at the IDEA Resource Center by Sevinc Saruxanova, an expert from the WWF Azerbaijan office. During the sessions, the young participants received detailed information on populations and the assessment of potential impacts on them. In addition, the participants completed written assignments on the relevant research topics.
On May 2, the second part of the program, consisting of practical fieldwork, took place in Shirvan National Park. The young participants observed various bird species in the park, studied their lifestyles, and compiled reports on their numbers.
It should be noted that the fieldwork was conducted under the guidance of Elchin Sultanov, PhD in Biological Sciences and Chairman of the Azerbaijan Ornithological Society.
