Azerbaijan successfully celebrated "Earth Hour" 2023 together with the whole world.

Participants of the campaign gathered at Dədə Qorqud Park on March 25 and observed the surrounding lights being turned off at 20:30 during the ceremonial countdown, took part in illuminating the “60+” symbol of the campaign with candles, and joined the mass entertainment program. During the “Earth Hour 2023” event, which hundreds of young people participated in, lively flash mobs, dances by famous dance groups in line with the “Earth Hour” concept, gift competitions, continuous music throughout the event, and other surprises attracted great interest from the participants.
“Earth Hour,” as the world’s largest movement dedicated to the environment, mobilizes millions of people to take action against climate change. Launched in 2007 in Sydney, Australia, as a simple mass switch-off of lights, the “Earth Hour” campaign is now observed in most countries around the world and in thousands of cities. During the “Earth Hour” events, held every year on the last Saturday of March, the facade lights of famous buildings in major cities are switched off for one hour at 20:30 local time.
IDEA Public Union, the official coordinator of the international “Earth Hour 2023” campaign in Azerbaijan, thanks everyone who joined the “Earth Hour” campaign in our country this year, as well as all institutions and organizations that turned off the lights of their buildings, including the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Heydar Aliyev Center, Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Baku City Executive Power, “Icherisheher” State Historical-Architectural Reserve Administration, Baku Boulevard Administration, Baku Olympic Stadium, “Baku Crystal Hall,” National Gymnastics Arena, ADA University, “Flame Towers” complex, “Dalga Plaza,” “Yeni Həyat Şirkətlər Qrupu” LLC, Nakhchivan State University THİK, Mingachevir Youth House, Pasha Malls, and Pasha Property Management.
