The first phase of the "7 Wonders of Azerbaijan" project has been completed!

The initial phase of the “7 Wonders of Azerbaijan” project, jointly organized by the IDEA Public Union and “Nature and History Production,” has been completed. As a result of the voting held within the framework of the project, 25 finalist sites were selected from the list of nominees.

The second phase of the project, which has garnered great public interest, will begin in November. In this phase, a television project involving scientists, researchers, and experts will be launched. Each of the programs, which will run for 25 weeks, will be dedicated to one of the finalist sites chosen by the public.

It should be noted that the “7 Wonders of Azerbaijan” project was launched in May of this year. As is known, following the worldwide voting held in 2007, the new seven wonders of the world were announced, and since then many countries have started implementing similar projects to select their own wonders. Accordingly, Azerbaijan launched such a project to determine its own wonders and conducted voting through the Yeddi.az website.

The main goal of the “7 Wonders of Azerbaijan” project is to foster patriotism in society, preserve our national, cultural, and historical heritage, investigate controversial and distorted facts in the context of historical monuments, and draw attention to the recognition and protection of historical, cultural, and natural sites in Azerbaijan.

As a result of the final voting, which will take place at the beginning of May next year within the framework of the project, 7 winners will be selected from the 25 nominees, and on Republic Day, May 28, the monuments deemed worthy of the title “7 Wonders of Azerbaijan” will be announced to the public.
