A beekeeping farm will be established for underprivileged youth.

A project titled “Promoting the Development of Eco-Entrepreneurship Among Azerbaijani Youth,” initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, aimed at establishing beekeeping farms for youth and young families, has been launched.
The project, implemented jointly by the IDEA Public Union, the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Employment Agency, and the public legal entity “ABAD,” aims to increase the presence of bees, which are guardians of biodiversity, in our country, promote beekeeping as a form of eco-entrepreneurship in various regions of Azerbaijan, support the production of natural honey, contribute to improving the material well-being of low-income families, and ensure youth employment.
Within the framework of the project, 20 young people who have shown special interest in beekeeping farms have been involved in a two-week theoretical and practical training on establishing and properly developing beekeeping farms. The training provides for the full provision of the necessary resources and equipment for beekeeping farms and the creation of the conditions required for the effective execution of the production process.
Young eco-entrepreneurs’ farms will be regularly monitored by specialists over two years to enable them to increase the number of hives through natural growth, and they will receive necessary guidance. Once they reach the stage of competitive honey production under market economy conditions, it is planned to assist new beekeepers in accessing a wide customer base and organizing efficient sales by exhibiting their products at “ABAD” stands.
It is well known that bees and other pollinators play a vital role in biodiversity conservation, and beekeeping is considered the most environmentally safe and beneficial type of agriculture. Honey-producing bees actively participate in pollinating plants, increasing their productivity and resilience. Taking this into account, the IDEA Public Union, together with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, has conducted several mass tree-planting campaigns in the country to plant nectar-producing trees in support of beekeeping.
Nature needs bees, and we need nature. Let us increase our care for bees and live together with them. Where there are bees, there is life!
