Today, the international ecological forum "Learning from Each Other!" for youth from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member countries is taking place.

The official partners of the event are the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Protection) Public Union, and the "Friends of Nature" Youth Public Union. More than 40 young ecologists from CIS member states are participating in the international forum.

The purpose of holding the international forum is to strengthen ecological awareness in our country and around the world, to increase young people’s responsibility towards the environment and ecology, and to give a more intensive boost to the implementation of ecological projects in Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Intiqam Babayev stated that this year has been declared the "Year of Ecology" in the CIS region:
"Despite the fact that 2012 was declared the 'Year of Ecology' in Azerbaijan and several events related to this field were held in the country that year, this year events in this direction are also being carried out in our country. This summer, we organized an ecological camp with the participation of CIS countries, and today, as a continuation of that event, the Forum is being held.

I believe that interesting discussions and exchanges of views will take place among our youth within the framework of the forum. I am confident that among the NGOs participating here, joint interesting initiatives and ideas in the field of ecological education and environmental protection will emerge. In the future, these projects can be implemented within the CIS region."

It should be noted that the forum will conclude on December 19.
