A garden consisting of sakura trees, gifted to Azerbaijan by the Japanese government, was planted in Baku's “Ganclik” park on March 6, with the embassy adviser Takeya Yukihiro also participating in the event.

The planting of the sakura trees took place within the framework of the “Nationwide Greening Marathon” project dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. The tree-planting ceremony was attended by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Muxtar Babayev, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, and the IDEA Public Union (founded and led by Leyla Aliyeva).

In “Ganclik” park, a commemorative plaque was also installed as a symbol of friendship between Azerbaijan and Japan.
