"Let's Protect the Leopards!" Ecological Summer Camp

IDEA Public Union, the Azerbaijan branch of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and the Republican Center for Ecological Education and Practice of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan organized the ecological summer camp "Let's Protect the Leopards!" within the framework of the "Conservation of Caucasian Leopards" project. The camp, which hosted more than 70 schoolchildren from the Masalli, Astara, and Lankaran regions, was held from July 27 to 30 in the village of Qaribler, Masalli district.
The purpose of the "Let's Protect the Leopards!" summer camp is to raise environmental awareness among young people from school age, to cultivate and develop their love for nature, to inform schoolchildren living near the habitats of the Caucasian leopard about this rare species, and to promote its conservation.
At the camp, schoolchildren also participated in seminars on the conservation of this rare species, human-environment interaction, excursions to the natural habitats of leopards, and various ecological research and competitions.
It should be noted that the first such summer camp was organized in Masalli district from July 9 to 11, 2014, with the participation of schoolchildren from Lankaran, Astara, and Lerik regions.
