Within the framework of the “Protection of Caucasian Leopards” project, IDEA Public Union and the Azerbaijan Representative Office of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) have launched the second summer camp called “Let’s Protect the Leopards!”. With the support of the Heydar Aliyev Center and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the camp, attended by more than 30 students from the Masalli, Jalilabad, and Yardimli districts of the Republic, is being held in the Masalli district.

The camp, which will take place from July 23 to 25, aims to educate young people about environmental issues from school age, to cultivate and develop a love for nature, to inform students living near the habitats of the Caucasian leopard about this rare species, and to promote its protection.

At the second summer camp “Let’s Protect the Leopards!”, students will participate in seminars on topics such as the protection of this rare species, humans and the environment, excursions to the natural habitats of leopards, and various ecological research and competitions.

It should be recalled that the first such summer camp was organized in the Masalli district from July 9 to 11, 2014, with the participation of more than 30 students from the Lankaran, Astara, and Lerik districts.

The “Let’s Protect the Leopards!” summer camps are held as a continuation of the Caucasus Biodiversity Summit, which took place on May 7, 2014, on the initiative of IDEA Public Union with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Heydar Aliyev Center.
