"Our Yard" - Binaqadi
The "Our Yard" project, aimed at improving neglected yards, continues successfully with the joint organization of the IDEA Public Union and the "Cavan" Youth Movement Public Union, and with the support of district executive authorities in Baku.
On November 5, the next yard renovated within the framework of the "Our Yard" project was opened for residents’ use. The updated yard covers buildings No. 186, 188, and 194 on Azadlıq Avenue in the Binagadi district, home to 3,000 residents.
Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, participated in the opening of the yard, as well as in the mass tree planting held during the event.
The main goal of the "Our Yard" project is to model ecologically clean and well-maintained yards, restore greenery, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.
With the support of the Binagadi District Executive Authority of Baku, a yard of 5,000 square meters renovated within the "Our Yard" project has been equipped with playgrounds to ensure easy movement for people with disabilities and limited health opportunities, and to create favorable conditions for the development of children of all age groups. A small area has been established with chess, a football field, and sports equipment. A bonfire area has been constructed for celebrating Novruz holidays according to national traditions, and a special space has been allocated for yoga enthusiasts. The main purpose of creating such playgrounds is to encourage young people to lead a healthy lifestyle, strengthen their health, spend their leisure time effectively, and develop a habit of regular physical activity.
Taking into account the wishes and interests of residents, the facades and entrance areas of multi-apartment buildings have been fully renovated and made available for use. In addition to restoring existing greenery in the yard, nearly 300 trees and shrubs have been planted. To ensure residents’ comfort, surveillance cameras have been installed and connected to the "Safe City Automatic Control Center" network of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It should be noted that the "Our Yard" project was initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union. The yard opened for residents in Binagadi is the sixth yard renovated within the project framework.
The project is planned to be implemented in all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and recommendations regarding yards in the capital that need improvement are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
