“Our Yard” - Binagadi District, F. Melikov Street
The "Our Yard" project, implemented at the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, aimed at the improvement of neglected courtyards, continues successfully.
On January 14, the next courtyard renovated within the framework of the "Our Yard" project was opened for residents' use. The renovated courtyard covers buildings located at 1B, 1Q, 1A, 2A, and 2B F. Melikov Street in the Binagadi district, housing nearly 2,400 residents.
The main goal of the "Our Yard" project is to model ecologically clean and well-maintained courtyards, restore greenery, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.
In the 1.0-hectare courtyard renovated under the "Our Yard" project, accessibility for people with disabilities and limited mobility has been ensured. The area has been designed to provide favorable conditions for the development of children of all age groups and to allow young people to spend their leisure time efficiently. The courtyard includes children's play elements, various sports equipment, mini football and chess courts, a children’s entertainment center with a specially coated floor, 8 seating areas, and modern lighting poles installed in the courtyard of the buildings. The main purpose of creating such areas is to encourage young people to lead a healthy lifestyle, strengthen their health, spend their free time effectively, and develop a habit of engaging in regular sports.
Taking into account the wishes and interests of residents, the facades and entrances of the buildings have been fully renovated and opened for use. In addition to restoring the existing greenery in the courtyard, 100 additional trees and shrubs have been planted, and a 4,000 m² green strip has been created. Surveillance cameras have also been installed to ensure residents' safety.
This is the tenth courtyard renovated for residents in the Binagadi district under the project.
The project is planned to be implemented in all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and recommendations about courtyards in the capital that need improvement are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
