On December 24, the next courtyard renovated under the "Our Courtyard" project of the IDEA Public Union, aimed at improving courtyards in need of repair, was handed over for use by residents.

Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, participated in the courtyard opening, including the mass tree planting held during the event.

A special holiday celebration was organized for the young residents of the renovated courtyard, coinciding with the New Year holiday. Children attending the event met with Santa Claus, Snow Maiden, various fairy tale characters, and famous figures, and enjoyed activities together around a colorfully decorated New Year tree. At the end of the celebration, all children received holiday gifts. The festive program, rich with musical entertainment, created a joyful atmosphere for the children, giving them a real holiday mood and enjoyable moments.

The renovated courtyard covers multi-story residential buildings located at Binagadi district, 6th microdistrict, Svetlana Mammadova Street 201, 203, 203B, and Israfil Hashimov Street 4A, where 2,200 residents live.

The main goal of the "Our Courtyard" project is to make the courtyards of buildings in Baku ecologically clean and well-maintained, restore greenery that forms the backbone of urban ecology, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.

In the newly renovated courtyard, consideration was given to the mobility of people with disabilities and limited health abilities. Facilities were created for the development of children of all age groups, for youth to spend their leisure time effectively, and to encourage systematic engagement in sports. A mini artificial-surface football stadium, a chess area, various sports equipment, and children’s playgrounds were installed, along with a 400-meter-long cycling path. Additionally, four gazebos, numerous benches, and waste bins were installed, and the courtyard’s charitable house was thoroughly renovated and fully equipped.

Taking into account the residents’ wishes and interests, new lighting poles were installed in the courtyard, building facades, roofs, and entrance areas were completely renovated, and new iron doors and plastic windows were installed in the blocks. In addition to restoring existing greenery, 70 trees and shrubs were planted, and a 2,500-square-meter green area was created. Surveillance cameras and fire hydrants were also installed to ensure residents’ safety.

The project is planned to be implemented in all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and recommendations regarding courtyards in the capital that require improvement are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
