The "Our Yard" project, aimed at the improvement of neglected courtyards, successfully continues under the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union.
On March 18, the next courtyard renovated within the framework of the “Our Yard” project was opened for residents’ use. The renewed courtyard covers buildings at S. Mammadova 207 and 209 in the Binagadi district, housing 600 residents.
The main goal of the “Our Yard” project is to make Baku’s courtyards ecologically clean and well-maintained, restore greenery that forms the backbone of the city’s ecology, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.
In the next courtyard renovated within the project, accessibility for people with disabilities and limited mobility has been ensured, favorable conditions for the development of children of all age groups have been created, and sports facilities, a playground for children, three conversation areas, and seating have been installed to help youth spend their leisure time effectively. The primary purpose of creating such spaces is to encourage young people to lead a healthy lifestyle, strengthen their health, spend their free time productively, and develop a habit of regular sports activities.
Taking into account the requests and interests of the residents, new lighting poles have been installed, and the facades and entrances of the buildings have been fully renovated and opened for use. Along with the restoration of existing greenery in the courtyard, an additional 50 trees have been planted, and a green strip has been established.
The courtyard opened for residents in the Binagadi district is the twenty-first courtyard renovated within the framework of the project.
The implementation of this project is planned in all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and recommendations regarding courtyards in the capital that require improvement are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
