The Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva participated in the opening of the yard and in the mass tree-planting campaign held within the framework of the event.

The renovated yard covers the multi-storey buildings numbered 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27 on Suleyman Ahmadov Street in the “Q” massif of Yeni Günəşli, Qarachukhur settlement, Surakhani district, where 1,200 residents live.

The main goal of the “Our Yard” project is to make yards across the country ecologically clean and well-maintained, restore greenery that forms the backbone of urban ecology, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.

In the next yard to be landscaped, the movement of people with disabilities and limited health capabilities has been taken into account, favorable conditions have been created for the development of children of all age groups, and for youth to spend their leisure time productively and develop a reflex for systematic sports. For this purpose, the area has been equipped with an artificial-surface mini-football stadium, a chess court, various sports facilities, and children's playgrounds. At the same time, 7 gazebos, numerous benches, trash bins, bird nests, and cat houses have been installed in the area.

Taking into account the wishes and interests of the residents, new lighting poles and surveillance cameras have been installed in the yard, the facades and blocks of the buildings have been fully renovated, asphalt and roofing have been renewed, and the electrical system has been reconstructed.

In addition to the restoration of existing greenery in the yard, 1,300 trees of various species have been planted, and a green strip has been created over an area of 3,000 square meters. Furthermore, thousands of common ivy and other climbing plants that grow densely around the yard and effectively reduce air pollution have been planted to create “green barriers.”
