“Opening of the next yard within the “Bizim Həyət” project”

Heydar Aliyev Foundation Vice-President, founder and head of IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva took part in the opening of the yard, as well asin the mass tree-planting campaign held within the event.
During the event, which coincided with the New Year holidays, a special festive celebration was organized for the young residents of the renovated yard, and holiday gifts were presented to the children. The celebration, enriched with musical entertainment programs, created a pleasant festive mood for the children and offered them joyful moments.
The renewed yard, located in Khatai district, on 8 November Avenue, Cavanşir and Khalig Azizzade Streets, covers 10 multi-storey buildings on an 8-hectare area where 3,145 residents live.
The main goal of the “Our Yard” project is to ensure that the yards in the capital are environmentally clean and well-maintained, to restore greenery, to create a meaningful recreational environment, and to provide safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.
In the newly improved yard, the movement needs of people with limited mobility were taken into account; artificial-turf mini football stadiums, 2 chess grounds, various sports facilities, and children's playgrounds were built to create favorable conditions for the development of children of all age groups, to organize effective leisure time for young people, and to encourage them to engage in sports. At the same time, 12 seating areas, numerous benches, waste bins, birdhouses, and cat shelters were installed in the area.
Taking into consideration the wishes and interests of residents, new lighting poles and surveillance cameras were installed in the yard, the facades and entrances of the buildings were fully repaired, the asphalt and roof covering were renewed, and the electrical system was rebuilt.
Along with the restoration of existing greenery in the yard, 2,650 trees and shrubs of various species were planted, and a green zone was created on a 4,000-square-meter area. In addition, “green barriers” were created by planting common ivy and other climbing plants that grow densely and can effectively reduce air pollution around the yard.
Within the framework of the mentioned project, it is requested to submit information and recommendations on the improvement of residential courtyard areas to the IDEA Public Union.
