Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, participated in the opening of the yard, including the mass tree-planting campaign held within the event.

During the event, which coincided with the New Year holiday, a special holiday celebration was organized for the young residents of the renovated yard, and holiday gifts were presented to the children. The celebration, enriched with musical entertainment programs, created a joyful holiday mood for the children and gave them moments full of happiness.

The renovated yard is located in the Khatai district, on 8 November Avenue, between Javanshir and Khalig Azizade Streets, covering an area of 8 hectares and encompassing 10 multi-story buildings housing 3,145 residents.

The main goal of the “Our Yard” project is to ensure that yards in the capital are ecologically clean and well-maintained, to restore greenery, to create meaningful recreational spaces, and to provide residents with safe and comfortable living conditions.

In the next renovated yard, considerations were made for the mobility of people with disabilities, the creation of favorable conditions for the development of children of all age groups, and the efficient organization of youth leisure time, aiming to encourage their interest in sports. For this purpose, the area includes 2 mini football stadiums with artificial surfaces, 2 chess squares, various sports facilities, and children's playgrounds. Additionally, 12 conversation spots, numerous benches, waste bins, bird nests, and cat houses have been installed.

Taking into account the requests and interests of residents, new lighting poles and surveillance cameras have been installed in the yard, the facades and blocks of the buildings have been completely renovated, the asphalt and roofing have been renewed, and the electrical system has been rebuilt.

Alongside the restoration of existing greenery in the yard, 2,650 trees and shrubs of various species have been planted, and a green strip has been established over an area of 4,000 square meters. In addition, “green fences” have been created by planting common ivy and other climbing plants around the yard, which grow densely and effectively reduce air pollution.

Within the framework of this project, it is requested that information and recommendations regarding the landscaping of the general residential yard areas be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
