"Our yard" project, Khatai district, R.Mammadov and A.Alesger streets
On April 12, the next courtyard renovated within the framework of the "Our Courtyard" project by the IDEA Public Union, aimed at improving courtyards in need of repair, was opened for residents’ use.
Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, attended the courtyard opening as well as the tree-planting campaign held during the event.
The renovated courtyard covers three multi-story residential buildings located at 24 and 26 Rahib Mammadov Street and 2 Ashiq Alesger Street in the Khatai district, home to 1,300 residents.
The main goal of the "Our Courtyard" project is to ensure that courtyards across the country are environmentally clean and well-maintained, to restore greenery, to promote a healthy lifestyle, and to create a safe and comfortable living environment for residents.
In the newly improved courtyard, accessibility for people with disabilities and limited mobility has been taken into account, and favorable conditions have been created for outdoor recreation for people of all age groups, including the installation of multiple gazebos and benches, as well as trash bins. To encourage youth to spend their leisure time productively and develop a habit of regular sports, the area features mini-football, basketball, chess, and children’s playgrounds with artificial surfaces, various sports facilities, and a bicycle path.
Taking residents’ requests and interests into consideration, new lighting poles have been installed, the facades and blocks of the buildings have been fully renovated, and gas, water, and heating lines have been reconstructed. In addition to restoring existing greenery, about 500 different trees and shrubs have been planted, and a 2,500-square-meter green area has been established. Surveillance cameras have also been installed to ensure residents’ safety.
Within the framework of the project, information and recommendations regarding the improvement of courtyards of multi-story residential buildings are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
