"Our Yard" - Nasimi
The "Our Yard" project, aimed at the improvement of neglected courtyards, continues successfully with the joint organization of IDEA Public Union and the "Cavan" Youth Movement Public Union, and with the support of the district executive authorities of Baku city.
On November 26, the next courtyard renovated within the framework of the "Our Yard" project was handed over for the use of residents. The renewed courtyard covers buildings located at 17-17a Ali Mustafayev Street in the Nasimi district, housing nearly 1,200 residents.
The main goal of the "Our Yard" project is to model ecologically clean and well-maintained courtyards, restore greenery, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.
With the support of the Nasimi District Executive Authority of Baku city, a courtyard of 15,000 m² renovated within the "Our Yard" project was designed with consideration for the mobility of people with disabilities and limited health capacities. To create a favorable environment for children’s development across all age groups, 120 m² of the area was equipped with children's play elements, 200 m² with mini football fields, 140 m² with sports-fitness areas, and 100 m² with chess grounds. The main purpose of establishing such areas is to encourage young people to lead a healthy lifestyle, strengthen their health, spend their free time effectively, and develop a habit of regular physical activity.
Taking into account the wishes and interests of residents, the facades and entrance areas of the buildings were fully renovated and handed over for use. In addition to restoring the existing greenery in the yard, 200 trees and shrubs were planted, and a 2,000 m² lawn was laid. Furthermore, surveillance cameras were installed to ensure the safety of residents.
It should be noted that the "Our Yard" project was initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Union. The yard handed over to residents in the Nasimi district is the eighth courtyard renovated under the project.
The project is planned to be implemented in all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and recommendations regarding courtyards in the capital that need improvement are requested to be submitted to IDEA Public Union.
