"Our Yard" – Nasimi District, Javadkhan Street
Within the framework of the "Our Yard" project, implemented on the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, another renovated yard has been opened for residents.
The updated yard covers the buildings at 10, 12, 16, and 18 Javadkhan Street in the Nasimi district, home to 616 residents.
The main goal of the "Our Yard" project is to make Baku’s courtyards ecologically clean and well-maintained, restore greenery that forms the backbone of the city’s ecology, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.
In the newly renovated yard, the movement of people with disabilities and limited mobility has been taken into account. Facilities for children’s development across all age groups, areas for youth to spend their leisure time efficiently, and equipment promoting systematic engagement in sports have been installed, including various sports structures, football and basketball courts, a chess area, and a playground for children, along with a bicycle path. Two conversation areas have been built, and benches, waste bins, and birdhouses have been installed.
Taking into account the wishes and interests of residents, new lighting poles and security cameras have been installed, and the facades, roofs, and entrances of the buildings have been fully renovated. In addition to restoring existing greenery, 30 trees have been planted and a 400-square-meter green strip created, following quarantine regulations.
In the renewed yard, medical and preventive measures have been implemented in accordance with quarantine requirements, including the installation of disinfection dispensers and informative boards reminding residents to observe quarantine rules.
The project is planned to be implemented in all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and recommendations regarding courtyards in the capital that require renovation are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
