"Our Yard" - Nasimi and Sabail districts

On March 12, within the framework of the "Our Yard" project initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, two more renovated courtyards were handed over for residents' use. The project focuses on the improvement of neglected courtyards.
The renewed courtyards cover buildings housing more than 2,000 residents, located on R. Mammadov Street in the Nasimi district and C. Hasilov Street in the Sabail district.
The main goal of the "Our Yard" project is to make Baku's courtyards ecologically clean and well-maintained, restore greenery that forms the backbone of the city's ecology, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.
In the courtyards renovated under the project, the movement of people with disabilities and limited health capacities was taken into account, favorable conditions were created for the development of children of all age groups, and sports facilities and playgrounds, chess areas, children's play areas, seating areas, and observation cameras for residents' safety were installed to ensure effective leisure time for young people.
The main purpose of establishing such playgrounds is to encourage young people to lead a healthy lifestyle, strengthen their health, spend their free time effectively, and develop a reflex for systematic engagement in sports.
Taking into account the wishes and interests of residents, new lighting poles were installed, and the facades and entrances of buildings were fully renovated and handed over for use. In addition to restoring the existing greenery in the courtyards, 200 new trees were planted, and a green area of 1,000 sq.m. was created.
The project is planned to be implemented in all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and recommendations regarding courtyards in the capital that need improvement are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
