On May 11, the opening ceremony of the next yard under the "Our Yard" project, initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, aimed at the landscaping of neglected yards, was held.
Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, participated in the yard opening, including in the mass tree planting held during the event.
The renovated yard covers buildings at the addresses 37, 39, 41, 47, 49, and 59 B. Nuriyev Street in the Nizami district, where 2,000 residents live.
The main goal of the "Our Yard" project is to make Baku yards environmentally clean and well-maintained, restore greenery that forms the pillar of the city’s ecology, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.
In the newly landscaped yard, the movement of people with disabilities and limited mobility has been taken into account. Facilities have been created to support the development of children of all age groups and to ensure productive leisure time for youth. The area includes one mini football field, two chess areas, sports equipment, a children’s playground, and ten conversation areas with seating. The main goal of establishing such playgrounds is to encourage young people to lead a healthy lifestyle, strengthen their health, spend their leisure time productively, and develop a habit of regular sports activities.
Considering the wishes and interests of residents, new lighting poles have been installed, and the facades and entrances of the buildings have been fully renovated and made available for use. In addition to restoring existing greenery in the yard, 100 new trees have been planted, and a 2,500 sq.m green zone has been created.
This yard is the twenty-third to be landscaped for residents in the Nizami district under the project.
The project is planned to be implemented in all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and recommendations regarding yards in the capital that require landscaping are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
