The “Our Yard” project, implemented on the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Founder and Head of the IDEA Public Association, aimed at the improvement of courtyards in need of renovation, continues successfully.

On February 18, within the framework of the “Our Yard” project, another renovated courtyard was opened for residents’ use. The renewed courtyard covers residential buildings located at 39, 41, 46, 51, 53, 55, 55/57 and 57 B. Nuriyev Street in the Nizami district, where nearly 2,500 residents live.

The main goal of the “Our Yard” project is to ensure the environmentally friendly and well-maintained condition of Baku’s courtyards, restore green spaces that form the backbone of the city’s ecology, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.

In the next courtyard renovated within the framework of the project, the convenient movement of persons with disabilities and limited health capabilities has also been taken into account. To create favorable conditions for the development of children of all age groups and to ensure that young people spend their leisure time efficiently, the area has been equipped with 2 mini football fields, 2 chess areas, sports facilities, a children’s entertainment center with specially covered flooring, 14 gazebos, and seating areas. The main purpose of establishing such facilities is to encourage young people to lead a healthy lifestyle, strengthen their health, spend their free time productively, and develop a habit of systematic engagement in sports.

Taking into account the wishes and interests of residents, new lighting poles have been installed, and the facades and entrance areas of the buildings have been fully renovated and made available for use. Along with the restoration of existing greenery in the courtyard area, an additional 100 trees have been planted and a green belt covering 800 m² has been created. Surveillance cameras have been installed in the area to ensure the safety of residents.

The courtyard opened for residents’ use in the Nizami district is the sixteenth courtyard renovated within the framework of the project.

The implementation of this project in all districts of Baku is planned. In this regard, information and recommendations regarding courtyards in need of improvement in our capital are kindly requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Association.
