On February 2, within the framework of the “Our Yard” project initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, another renovated yard was handed over for residents’ use.

The renovated yard is located at 7 and 7a Ali Veliev Street in the Nizami district of the capital and covers buildings housing approximately three thousand residents.

The main goal of the “Our Yard” project is to make Baku’s yards ecologically clean and well-maintained, restore greenery that forms the backbone of the city’s ecology, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.

In the newly renovated yard, accessibility for people with disabilities and limited mobility has been ensured. Playgrounds suitable for children of all age groups, various sports facilities, a football and chess field, and recreational areas for youth have been created to encourage productive leisure time and develop a habit of systematic exercise. Six gazebos have been built, and benches, waste bins, and birdhouses have been installed throughout the yard.

Taking into account the residents’ wishes and interests, new lighting poles and security cameras have been installed, and the facades, roofs, and entrances of the buildings have been fully renovated. In addition to restoring the existing greenery, 200 trees have been planted while observing special quarantine regulations.

In the renovated yard, medical and preventive measures in accordance with quarantine requirements have been implemented, disinfectant dispensers have been installed, and informational boards have been placed to remind residents to follow quarantine rules.

The project is planned to be implemented in all districts of Baku. Accordingly, information and recommendations regarding yards in need of renovation in the capital are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
