" Our Yard" - Nizami district, M. Sharifli Street
On December 16, the next yard renovated under the "Our Yard" project of the IDEA Public Union, aimed at improving courtyards in need of repair, was handed over for use by residents.
Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, participated in the opening of the yard, as well as in the mass tree planting held during the event.
The renovated yard covers multi-story residential buildings at 84, 86, 88, 90, and 92 M. Sharifli Street in the Nizami district, housing 1,300 residents.
The main goal of the "Our Yard" project is to make Baku's courtyards environmentally clean and well-maintained, restore greenery that forms the backbone of the city’s ecology, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create a safe and comfortable living environment for residents.
In the newly renovated yard, the convenience of movement for people with disabilities and limited mobility has been taken into account. Conditions favorable for the development of children of all age groups have been created, and a mini football stadium with artificial turf, a chess area, various sports equipment, and playgrounds have been installed to ensure that young people spend their leisure time productively and develop a habit of regular physical activity.
Additionally, 14 gazebos, numerous benches, and waste bins have been installed in the area. The charity house in the yard has been thoroughly renovated and equipped with all necessary facilities.
Taking into account the wishes and interests of the residents, new lighting poles have been installed, the facades, roofs, and entrances of the buildings have been fully renovated, and new iron gates and plastic windows have been installed in the blocks. Alongside the restoration of existing greenery in the yard, 50 additional trees and shrubs have been planted, and a 8,330 sq.m green zone has been established. Furthermore, surveillance cameras and fire hydrants have been installed to ensure the safety of the residents.
The implementation of this project is planned for all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and recommendations about courtyards in the capital that require improvement are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
