The "Our Yard" project, implemented on the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, aimed at improving neglected courtyards, continues successfully.

On January 16, the next courtyard renovated within the framework of the “Our Yard” project was handed over for residents’ use. The renewed courtyard covers buildings located at 14/1 and 14/2 Sulh Street, Sabunchu district, where nearly 1,000 residents live.

The main goal of the “Our Yard” project is to model ecologically clean and well-maintained courtyards, restore greenery, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.

In the courtyard renovated within the framework of the “Our Yard” project, accessibility for people with disabilities and limited mobility has been ensured, and favorable conditions for children’s development across all age groups have been created. Sports facilities and a children’s playground with a specially coated surface have been installed for effective leisure activities of young people, and four conversation areas with seating have been arranged. The main purpose of creating such spaces is to encourage young people to lead a healthy lifestyle, strengthen their health, spend their leisure time productively, and develop a habit of systematic physical activity.

Taking into account the requests and interests of residents, the facades and entrance areas of the buildings have also been fully renovated and handed over for use. In addition to restoring the existing greenery in the courtyard, 100 new trees have been planted, and a 700 m² green zone has been established.

This courtyard is the fifteenth renovated and handed over to residents within the framework of the project in the Sabunchu district.

The project is planned to be implemented in all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and recommendations regarding courtyards in the capital that require improvement are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
