"Our yard" - Sabail district, Badamdar settlement, R. Isgandarov and A. Nazarov
On January 31, the next courtyard renewed within the framework of the "Our Courtyard" project by IDEA Public Union, aimed at improving courtyards in need of repair, was opened for residents' use.
Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Union, attended the courtyard opening, including the mass tree planting held during the event. The renovated courtyard covers multi-story residential buildings located at 4A Rafiq Isgandarov Street and 3, 3A, 5, and 9 Aziz Nəzarov Street in the Badamdar settlement of the Sabail district, housing 850 residents.
The main goal of the "Our Courtyard" project is to make the courtyards of buildings in Baku environmentally clean and well-maintained, restore greenery that forms the backbone of the city's ecology, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.
In the newly renovated courtyard, the movement of disabled and people with limited health abilities has been taken into account. Facilities for children of all age groups have been created to support their development, and spaces for youth to spend their leisure time productively and develop a habit of systematic sports activities have been established, including an artificial-surface mini football stadium, various sports equipment, and children's playgrounds. A 160-meter-long cycling path has been constructed. Additionally, 3 gazebos, numerous benches, and waste bins have been installed in the area.
Taking residents’ wishes and interests into account, new lighting poles have been installed in the courtyard, the building facades, roofs, and entrances have been fully renovated, and new iron doors have been installed at the blocks. Along with the restoration of existing greenery, 130 additional trees and various types of flowering bushes have been planted, and a 600-square-meter green strip has been created. For residents' safety, surveillance cameras and fire hydrants have also been installed in the area.
The project is planned to be implemented in all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and recommendations about courtyards in the capital that require improvement are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
