“Our Yard” – Surakhani District, Hovsan settlement, Elchin Mammadov st.

Heydər Əliyev Foundation Vice-President, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union Leyla Əliyeva’s initiative “Bizim Həyət” project has delivered another renovated courtyard for residents’ use.

The renewed courtyard covers the buildings located at Suraxanı district, Hövsan settlement, 3A, 4, 4A, 5, 5A, 5B, 5V Elçin Məmmədov Street, where 2923 residents live.

The main goal of the “Bizim Həyət” project is to make Baku courtyards environmentally clean and well-maintained, restore the greenery that forms the backbone of the city’s ecology, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.

In the next renovated courtyard, the movement of people with disabilities and limited mobility has been considered, and various sports facilities, football fields, chess areas, and playgrounds for children have been built to create favorable conditions for children of all age groups, ensure effective leisure time for young people, and develop in them a habit of regular sports.

In the area of the new courtyard consisting of 3 renovated neighborhoods, 18 pergolas have been built, and benches and waste bins have been installed.

Taking into account the wishes and interests of the residents, new elevators, lighting poles, and security cameras have been installed in the courtyard, the facades of the buildings, roofs, and entrance areas have been fully repaired, and an electromagnetic card access system has been introduced to the blocks. Alongside the restoration of existing greenery in the courtyard, 50 trees have additionally been planted in compliance with the rules of the special quarantine regime, and a green area has been created on 6415 square meters.

In the renewed courtyard, medical and preventive measures have been carried out in accordance with the requirements of the quarantine period, disinfectant dispensers have been placed, and informational boards reminding residents to comply with quarantine rules have been installed.

It is planned to implement this project in all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and recommendations about courtyards in need of improvement in our capital are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
