“Our Yard” - Surakhani District, Yeni Guneshli Settlement V

Within the framework of the "Our Yard" project, implemented at the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, another renovated yard has been opened for residents’ use.
The renovated yard covers buildings No. 20–28 in the “V” residential area of Yeni Guneshli settlement, Surakhani district, where 2,250 residents live.
The main goal of the "Our Yard" project is to ecologically clean and improve Baku’s yards, restore greenery that forms the backbone of the city’s ecology, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.
In the newly renovated yard, accessibility for people with disabilities and limited mobility has been considered, favorable conditions for children’s development across all age groups have been created, and various sports facilities, football fields, chess areas, and playgrounds for children have been established to ensure that young people spend their leisure time productively and develop a habit of regular physical activity. Thirteen gazebos have been built in the yard, and benches and waste bins have been installed.
Taking into account the wishes and interests of the residents, new elevators, lighting poles, and security cameras have been installed, and the facades, roofs, and entrances of the buildings have been completely renovated. In addition to restoring the existing greenery, 50 trees have been planted and a 3,500 sq.m. green zone has been created, following special quarantine measures.
In accordance with quarantine requirements, medical and preventive measures have been implemented in the renovated yard, disinfection dispensers have been installed, and educational boards warning about compliance with quarantine rules have been placed.
The project is planned to be implemented in all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and recommendations regarding yards in need of renovation in the capital are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
