“Our Yard” - Khatai

The "Our Yard" project, aimed at the improvement of neglected courtyards, continues successfully with the joint organization of IDEA Public Union and the "Cavan" Youth Movement Public Union, and with the support of the district executive authorities of Baku city.

On November 6, the next renovated courtyard within the framework of the "Our Yard" project was opened for residents. The updated courtyard covers five-story buildings at 11 Afiyaddin Jalilov Street in the Khatai district, housing nearly 600 residents.

The main goal of the "Our Yard" project is to model ecologically clean and well-maintained courtyards, restore greenery, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.

With the support of the Khatai District Executive Authority of Baku, in the courtyard renovated under the "Our Yard" project, covering an area of 6,500 m², the movement of disabled and people with limited health abilities has been taken into account. Playground equipment has been installed to provide favorable conditions for the development of children of all age groups, and a small sports area with exercise equipment has been set up. The main purpose of creating such areas is to encourage young people to lead a healthy lifestyle, strengthen their health, spend their leisure time effectively, and develop a habit of regular physical activity.

Taking into account the wishes and interests of the residents, the facades and entrances of the buildings have also been fully renovated and made available for use. In addition to restoring existing greenery in the courtyard, 50 trees have been planted, and a green zone of nearly 600 square meters has been established. To ensure residents' convenience, surveillance cameras have been installed and connected to the network of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' "Safe City Automated Control Center."

It should be noted that the "Our Yard" project was launched on the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder, and head of IDEA Public Union. The courtyard opened for residents in the Khatai district is the seventh renovated courtyard within the project framework.

The project is planned to be implemented in all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and recommendations about courtyards in our capital that require improvement are requested to be submitted to IDEA Public Union.
