"Our yard" - Khatai district
On September 18, the next courtyard renovated within the framework of the "Bizim həyət" project of the IDEA Public Union, aimed at improving courtyards in need of repair, was opened for residents’ use.
Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, took part in the opening of the courtyard, as well as in the tree-planting campaign held during the event.
The courtyard, with a total area of 12,000 sq.m, covers five 9-storey and two 16-storey buildings located at 10 Lutfuzade, 21 M. Rustamov, and 19 Sarajevo, where 2,500 residents live.
The main goal of the “Bizim həyət” project is to ensure that Baku courtyards are ecologically clean and well-maintained, to restore greenery that forms the backbone of the city’s ecology, to promote a healthy lifestyle, and to create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.
In the newly improved courtyard, mobility for people with disabilities and limited health capabilities has been taken into account; to create favorable conditions for the development of children of all age groups, to ensure that young people spend their leisure time effectively, and to form a habit of systematic sports, an artificial-turf mini football field, a chess area, various sports facilities, and a playground for children have been built.
At the same time, a bicycle path and ten seating pavilions were constructed in the area, numerous benches and waste bins were installed, the local ceremony house was thoroughly renovated and fully equipped.
Taking into account the wishes and interests of the residents, new lighting poles were installed in the courtyard, the facades, roofs, and entrance areas of the buildings were completely repaired, new iron doors and plastic windows were installed in the blocks. Along with the restoration of the existing greenery in the courtyard, an additional 100 trees and flower bushes were planted, and a 4,500 sq.m green zone was created.
The courtyard presented for residents’ use in the Khatai district is the thirtieth courtyard renovated within the framework of the project.
It is planned to implement this project in all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and recommendations about courtyards in need of improvement in our capital are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
